The Mission

The cupcake train is plowing full steam ahead right now, which is why I’m jumping on board to see where it takes me.

So here’s my plan- to visit as many cupcakeries, bakeries, grocery stores, any place that sells cupcakes to explore, compare, indulge a wee bit, and find what I think is the tastiest cupcake.  I figure my current financial situation will limit my explorations to the southeast (where I live) for the time being, but hopefully I’ll be able to travel and expand my experiences soon.  One fine day,  I’d like to say I searched the whole COUNTRY to find the very best cupcake in AMERICA.  Let the quest begin!

On a day dreaming side note – here’s what I’d love to be crusading across this country in…

Its nice to read your blog, I thought I was the only one searching for the BEST cupcake…. If you get a chance visit Piece of cake in buckhead (Atlanta) Not far from Phipps. They are so in my top 5 right now. I wasnt too happy with Lenox cupcakes either, btw!

Thanks for reading, Tricia! And for the tip about Piece of Cake, I’ll have to check them out soon. There’s a Piece of Cake in Roswell that I’ve passed a bunch of times before, I wonder if that’s the same company?….If you have time, I’d love to hear your other top 4!

There is a new cupcakery in Elkridge, Maryland called Kupcakes & Co. They just opened a few weeks ago and they have a cute little shop and over 20 different kinds of cupcakes. If you’re in the area, you should give them a try!

There is a new cupcakery in Aiken, SC called Jari’s Bakery…and I had the most devine Southern treat…a banana pudding cupcake! I nominate her!

Thank you for the scoop on Jari’s, Kelly – I need to make my way to SC! And I LOVE banana pudding! Wrap that up in a cupcake and I’m sure to be a fan 🙂
